Running Brings Me My Sunshine
Running hands down is one of my favorite types of cardio workouts that I implement into my fitness routine. It’s fabulous for circulation, strengthening muscles and heart health. All these are very important to me, because let’s face it, I am one big walking heart. However, like many wonderful things in life, just because it’s good for you doesn’t mean it’s easy to implement running into your everyday fitness routine. I had always found running a struggle and difficult until I learned from my former supervisor who was an avid runner, how to run the proper way, that can make it enjoyable. Call me a health nerd, but now I get a little, well I shouldn’t say a little, a HUGE thrill out of lacing up my sneakers and stepping outside for a long run soaking in the sunshine and feeling the cool breeze against my face. In a nutshell, here is what she said: Keep reading
No MORE Dieting!
So many people i’ve come across say that they don’t subscribe to any kind of diet. Well, truth be told, that if you eat food, then you have a diet. It maybe, “screw it, I love donuts” kind of diet, but it still counts. A few years ago, I was having several health problems. My digestive system was in complete chaos. I was experiencing tons of stomach pains, let alone all of the emotional ups and downs, I had no idea what was happening. It was like a war zone inside my bod! I felt like there was more to life than curling in the corner of my room in fetal position due to such stomach discomfort. So, I took matters into my own hands and got “serious” about my nutrition. I began researching the Paleo diet, and felt pretty confident that this was would help rebuild my digestive system from a war zone, to a peaceful zen yoga studio. I found that it was incredibly challenging, but I did feel better and more energized. I completely cut out gluten and dairy and my digestive system started to say “namaste” than “Billy, run, get to the choppa.” So, that was a good sign. Keep reading
